And also because it is a time warp, with only about 5000 miles from new. The chassis was begun in 1980 and not delivered until 1983 in Switzerland, from which I imported it to the United States. In the final years of the Phantom VI, Rolls-Royce incorporated contemporary to the time advances on an earlier body style. Only made by hand and strictly to order usually to governments or heads of state, the Phantom VI-40 represented the very last word on stately elegance and the finest work of the coachbuilding firm of Mulliner Park Ward. In the final years of production only a few to none at all were made per year and they were fiercely expensive. Today to build such a car would cost millions of dollars. Fitted with every extra available, this car is finished in black exterior with beige leather front and special order Savoy Beige Velvet to the rear with special back and beige Savoy Velvet curtains to the side windows. Stainless arch covers and along the bottom of the sides of the car. Television, stereo, special storage compartment, double folding picnic tables, crystal, front facing jump seats and velvet head cushions are a few of the options. You could search the world and not find another one of these PVI-40s available, much less a virtually brand new example. The condition is concours virtually as new.
